Jekyll & Hyde on Stage in September21 Aug 2020, Posted by Latest2 in
We’re delighted to announce we’ll be staging our highly acclaimed production, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, this September at The Wilde Theatre, Bracknell.
As things stand, this will be for the purposes of online streaming, ahead of a full tour from November. The production, which first toured in 2017, will rehearse remotely in early September, with live rehearsals planned from 7 September and filmed performances on 17 and 18 September.
Artistic Director Adrian McDougall said, “We’ve been working towards getting Jekyll & Hyde back on stage for many months now, and there have been times when it’s been touch and go. But I’m really pleased we can finally get back into the rehearsal room and create some great theatre. As well as producing something new and exciting for a public online audience, it means we can add Jekyll & Hyde to our online library of syllabus-related work, and we’ll be creating lots of educational content to accompany the show for our schools audience. In the meantime, we continue to plan to welcome live audiences to the live tour later in the year”.
The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella by Nick Lane, who also directs, with original music composed by Tristan Parkes. We also welcome back from the original production Victoria Spearing (Design), Naomi Gibbs (Costume Design) and Claire Childs (Lighting Design). Enric Ortuño joins us as Movement and Intimacy Director and Jay Hirst as Company Stage Manager.
We will be announcing casting soon, along with details of how to stream the show online.
